There are some conditions, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome being one, caused by imbalances in the immune and endocrine systems that respond well to reflexology. In my experience, a regular course of treatments can have long lasting and positive life changing effects.

Chronic Fatigue syndrome

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as ME, can be hard to diagnose as the symptoms can belong to a number of different complaints. Physical symptoms may include fatigue, muscle & joint pain, numbness, cold extremities, digestive problems and headaches. Mentally and emotionally suffers are prone to difficulty concentrating, memory loss, anxiety and even depression as the condition is often prolonged and debilitating.

It often follows a viral infection ie flu or glandular fever, which is thought to be retained in the muscles and cause a chronic low grade infection. Effects can range from mild to severe and are known to fluctuate. Unfortunately, attempts to improve the condition by methods such as exercise can have the opposite result and leave the sufferer in a state of exhaustion.

Recognised treatment is centred on life style changes such as diet and recovery is usually gradual but it is a slow process.

To speed recovery and potentially attain a better quality of life, I would recommend a reflexology consultation which can identify and focus in on symptoms in a truly holistic way. Reflexes (defined areas on the feet that stimulate healing in the body) which will have the most beneficial effects will be those relating to the liver and digestive system, glands, immune system and stress such as the diaphragm. The spine and nervous system along with identified symptom sites would also be used, as with any treatment.

By completing a regular plan of treatments, following the consultation, I would hope that the benefits obtained would be clear and measurable. This should, in itself, assist with recovery through the positive interaction with the therapist who will be able to guide and encourage you as treatment progresses.
